tips for healthy skin

Keep yourself hydrated!

Toxic free body equals healthy skin. They  say what you eat or drink reflects on your face. Heat and sweat can leave your body dehydrated. It’s very important to keep yourself hydrated, by drinking almost 12 glasses of water per day. Do make sure you avoid aerated drinks and canned juice, which can further harm your body. Green tea, fresh fruit juice, coconut water, etc. can be preferred.

In order to shield your skin from the harmful UV rays, it’s important to use a sunscreen lotion (of at least of SPF 30). However, not many know that it is important to apply the sunscreen 15 minutes prior to sun exposure.

For sensitive and oily skin, a mineral-based sunscreen can be used.

It is best to prevent stepping out in the sun between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m., which is known as the peak time for the exposure to UV radiation.

Also, if you are out in the sun for long, it is necessary to reapply the sunscreen every two to three hours.

De-tanning remedies

When you don’t follow basic steps to guard your skin from harmful UV rays, it mostly results in tanning, which further leads to darkening of your skin. Here are some home remedies to get rid of the tan:

Make a paste of one almond, 5 drops of lemon and a teaspoon of milk. Apply it evenly on your face and leave it on overnight. Wash with warm water the next morning.

One can also simply apply coconut milk and leave this too on all night.

For pimple prone skin, rub on tomato juice all over your face and wash after ten minutes. Follow this a few times during the week to get rid of your tan

Make up

Make-up in summers can easily be spotted. All thanks to the heat and sweat. One should steer clear of greasy foundations and stick to oil-free foundation. Powdering your face with a shine-free compact powder will help you set the foundation. When it comes to eyes, make sure you use waterproof eyeliner and mascara to prevent any smudging. Go for lipsticks which stay long, which saves you from touch-ups. Last but not the least, dab your face with a finish primer to set your make-up.2
